Level 2 Certificate in Damp, Mould and Condensation in Traditional and Historic Buildings

£245.00 +VAT

Overview

This On-Demand ESC Level 2 Certified course provides a practical and credible introduction to the investigation of damp, mould and condensation in traditional and historic buildings. Developed by Professor John Edwards – formerly of English Heritage and Cadw, Chair of the IHBC Technical Panel, and one of the UK’s leading specialists in building pathology, retrofit and conservation – the course applies structured, evidence-based investigation principles to the unique performance characteristics of older buildings.

Delivered live online, the course introduces learners to:

  • traditional construction and moisture behaviour,
  • heritage significance and legal responsibilities,
  • structured inspection techniques,
  • identifying causes of damp, mould and condensation,
  • and appropriate remedial approaches.

The course is also supported by the ESC Hub – an advanced online knowledge centre providing substantially more detailed technical guidance, standards, references and learning resources than can be covered within the course itself, allowing learners to develop their knowledge beyond Level 2 should they wish.

The course follows standards such as BS 5250: 2021, the British Standard for dealing with moisture in buildings and the Joint Position Statement on the Investigation of Moisture and its Effects on Traditional Buildings.

In order to obtain the ESC certification and a 8 hour CPD certificate, learners will undertake a separate multiple choice end test following completion of the course.
