We are pleased to announce that the Environment Study Centre has been appointed by the RICS to develop and deliver training in the retrofit of dwellings. This will be undertaken by our Director of Studies, Learning and Research Professor John Edwards, along with Chartered Surveyors Larry Rassan and Professor Richard Fitton.
Speaking on being appointed Professor Edwards said: “I am delighted to be chosen by the RICS, and again work with Richard and Larry”.
The training is aimed at helping RICS members apply the new RICS Dwelling Retrofit Standard, which comes into force at the end of October 2024.
The first session to be delivered by Professor Edwards is on retrofit design and takes place on the 25th September 2024. Please find here further details and how to book.
This is one of a number of commissions this year, which sees the Environment Study Centre’s expertise being acknowledged by the most credible of clients who want genuine expertise in the retrofit of buildings.
Our Director of Studies, Learning and Research Professor John Edwards said: “We now seem to be the number one choice for many organisations, and the thing that sets us apart from other training organisations, is that we are not just trainers. All of us are involved with projects, and training is just part of what we do, and this arrangement means that we bring our projects into our training courses”.
The Environment Study Centre develops and delivers its own courses, many of them achieving government approved qualifications, but has also developed and on many occasions delivered training for a host of organisations that has included the IHBC, CIOB, RICS, CITB, HES, Scottish Lime Centre, Welsh Zero Carbon Hwb, Stirling City Heritage Trust, Historic England, Northern Ireland Government, CITB Northern Ireland and many others.
