The Environment Study Centre is today launching a brand new 2-Day course in Damp, Mould and Condensation in Buildings, which achieves the ABBE Level 3 Award qualification.
The course is available live over the Internet and also live in person for group bookings. It has been developed by Professor John Edwards, a leading expert in dealing with moisture problems in buildings and who first started investigating such issues in 1981. According to Professor Edwards: “this course provides a great opportunity for individuals to obtain a recognised qualification in dealing with damp, mould and condensation in buildings”. Edwards added: “the development of this initiative, has partly been instigated by demand, in terms of individuals wanting to obtain a qualification and also for organisations to evidence that their staff are qualified in this very important subject”.
We believe we have the best trainer and educator in Professor Edwards, a Chartered Building Surveyor, Chartered Environmentalist and Building Pathologist. This allows us to offer a first-class course to the highest quality standards providing the perfect blend of theory and some of the most well informed practical know how.
The course includes specific sessions on the ‘Joint Position Statement – Investigation of moisture and its effects on traditional buildings: Principles and competencies’, published by the RICS with others, and also BS 5250: 2021, the British Standard for management moisture in buildings. In addition, there is considerable content on how retrofit increases moisture issues in buildings.
The first course takes place on the 17th and 18th of February 2025, and with demand likely to be high, book now if you want to secure a place. Find out more.
